When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may collect your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, the pages you view, the page that referred you, the date and time of your visit, and your approximate location based on your IP address. This is collected through server logs, cookies and similar technologies.

Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your browser. The Site uses these types:
| Type | What it does | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Makes the Site work, keeps it secure and remembers your cookie choices | WordPress and consent-tool cookies, and cookies saved if you tick the box on the comment form |
| Analytics | Helps us understand which pages are used | Google Analytics |
| Advertising | Serves and measures ads, and may personalize them | Google AdSense and its partners |
For a full list of the cookies we use, their purposes and how long they last, see our Cookie Policy.
Your choices. Where the law requires it, including for visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we only set analytics and advertising cookies after you consent. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or refuse. You can change your choices at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer of the Site. To collect your choices in those regions, we use a consent management tool (the “Cookie Compliance for WordPress – Cookie Consent, GDPR & CCPA” plugin).
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.
Advertising and Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display ads on the Site. As part of this:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this Site or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to the Site and other sites on the Internet.
- Third parties may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons or IP addresses, to collect information as a result of ad serving on the Site.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
To learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Advertisers and ad partners have their own privacy policies, and we don’t control them.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the Site, for example which pages are visited and how visitors reach us. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and collects information such as pages viewed, device and browser data and approximate location. You can prevent this by refusing analytics cookies in our banner, or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Contact form and comments
We use what you send through the contact form or by email only to read and answer your message and to keep a reasonable record of it. We don’t add you to any mailing list. We don’t send a newsletter.
Comments are public. Your name and your comment appear on the page, and we don’t show your email address. We may use a spam filter and may remove comments at our discretion. You can ask us to delete your comment at any time.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site, and as the law requires. These include:
- Our hosting provider (Hostinger), which stores the Site and its data.
- Google, for advertising (AdSense) and analytics (Google Analytics).
- Our email provider (Google Gmail), which handles messages you send us.
We may also disclose information if we have to comply with the law, respond to a legal request or protect our rights, the Site or others.
We don’t sell your personal information in exchange for money. As explained below, advertising cookies can involve sharing identifiers with advertising partners.
International transfers
We operate the Site from Spain. Our service providers, including Google, may process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires safeguards for those transfers, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, where applicable.
How long we keep information
- Contact messages: for as long as needed to respond and keep a reasonable record, and then we delete them.
- Comments: until you or we delete them.
- Analytics and advertising data: for the periods set by Google and your cookie settings.
- Server logs: for the period our hosting provider keeps them.
We may keep information longer if the law requires it.
Your rights if you’re in the EEA, UK or Switzerland
You have the right to ask us for access to the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what happened before.
To exercise any of these rights, write to payoffway@gmail.com. We’ll reply within one month.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Spain, that’s the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, aepd.es). You can also contact the authority in your own country.
Your rights if you live in the United States
Some US states, including California, give residents rights over their personal information, such as the right to know what we collect, to ask us to delete or correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or its use for targeted advertising. These laws apply only to businesses that meet certain thresholds, and we may not be covered. Even so, we’ll consider any reasonable request.
Advertising cookies may be treated as a “sale,” “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some of these laws. You can opt out through the cookie settings link in the footer, through Google’s Ads Settings, and by using browser settings or opt-out signals your browser supports. To make a request, email payoffway@gmail.com. We won’t treat you differently for making a request.
Children
The Site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has given us personal information, write to us at payoffway@gmail.com and we’ll delete it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information, and so do our service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Links to other websites
The Site links to third-party websites, such as government agencies and companies. We aren’t responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make important changes, we’ll say so on the Site.
